Samsung Galaxy S3

Smartphones get even smarter with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3.  Other than this devices stunning features such as a 4.8 inch hi-def display, 4G LTE connectivity and a 8 megapixel camera, it appears to be picking up on social cues.  Samsung has integrated many functions to make your interaction with the Galaxy S3 an easy and quite frankly an impressive one.

Smart Stay

With Smart Stay, as long as you are looking at it, the phone’s screen will remain bright for you.  When you look away the screen will dim.  By utilizing the front facing camera, Smart Stay detects when you are focused on the screen and will remain lit until you look away or close your eyes.  Lighting the screen only when being looked at is a much more efficient usage of battery life.

Direct Call

When you want to respond to a friends text message with a phone call, it’s easy with Direct Call.  Just by raising the phone to your ear it understands the gesture and phones your friend.

Smart Alert

It knows if you have been away from your phone for awhile so it will gently nudge you to let you know of any missed calls or messages.

Social Tag

Social Tag allows you to contact your friends via phone call, text, email or even facebook straight from a picture in which they have been tagged.  After tagging a friend the first time, the Galaxy will recognize your friends’ face and automatically tag them in other pictures.

S-Beam

S-Beam will transfer videos, music, information, etc. just by simply holding the backs’ of two Galaxy S3s together.

S-Voice

S-Voice allows you to interact with your Galaxy by speaking to it.  From setting alarms and answering phone calls to updating your facebook status and taking photos, it can all be done by your voice.  In fact, it requires no touch at all, just saying “Hi Galaxy” will trigger S-Voice.

There are smartphones and then there are smarterphones.  After highlighting only some of the new features of the Samsung Galaxy S3, it’s clear that it’s at the head of the class.
